It's fair to say that hospitality education comes in many shapes and sizes from many areas across the globe. Nowhere, however, can education boast the level of strengths that Greece has to offer.

Greece is the cradle of western civilisation. It is a land swathed in cultural and ancient treasures that blend with its geographical features of sun, sea and sand.  It is no wonder that modern tourism development has given rise to a new dynamic and most attractive sector of the Greek economy.

Increasingly, the hospitality sector is becoming the new superpower for employment, not only limited to Greece but on a global basis. Greece's tourism offerings are world-renowned, accounting for one fifth of the country's gross domestic product and one in five jobs. Last year tourism revenues for Greece were €11 billion which is $14.8 billion - a record that is expected to be surpassed again this year.

The number of tourist arrivals is expected to increase by 7 percent to 16 million visitors according to the Institute for Tourism Research and Forecasting. Hotels total in excess of 9000 across the country that includes 227 inhabited islands.
